Adding Renewal Information to Subscription Plans

You can set up subscription renewal details when creating the subscription plan, or add them later by editing the plan. The renewal options you choose for the plan apply to all subscriptions created from it. You can edit the plan when creating a draft subscription. You can edit all renewal subtab values in any status.

To add renewal details to a subscription plan:

  1. Go to Lists > Subscriptions > Subscription Plans.

  2. Click Edit for the subscription to renew.

  3. Click the Renewal subtab.

  4. Choose a term for the renewal subscription from the Default Renewal Term list.

  5. Choose the default renewal method from the Default Renewal Method list.

    1. If you chose Extend Existing Subscription, go to step 6.

    2. If you chose Create New Subscription:

      1. From the Default Renewal Subscription Plan list, choose a default subscription plan for the renewal subscription.

      2. From the Default Renewal Transaction Type list, select a default (Do Not Create Sales Transaction, Estimate, Opportunity, or Sales Order).

  6. To automate the renewal process, check Automatically Initiate Renewal Process and enter the number of days in Before Subscription End Date.

  7. With Uplift Pricing enabled, the percentage price automatically increases a customer's renewal pricing or interval price when using the Renewal Uplift subtab. The percentage uplift increase applies to the minimum and maximum values at both the tier and header level. The default value acts as a template for default renewal settings and the Renewal Uplift subtab when creating new subscriptions. When a subscription renewal is created, the price plans are automatically updated to reflect the renewal increase. When extending a renewal, new pricing intervals are automatically generated with the chosen price increase.

  8. Click Save. The Price Books subtab opens.

Next, create a price book by setting up each item's price plan. See Creating Price Books.

With the global Invoicing preference, Define Percentage Uplift for Subscription Lines, percentage price increases are automatically applied to customer renewal pricing. The percentage uplift increase applies to the minimum and maximum values at both the tier and header level. The default value acts as a template for default renewal settings when creating new subscriptions. When a subscription renewal is created, the price plans are automatically updated to reflect the renewal increase.
