Sales Orders by Item Detail Report
The Sales Orders by Item Detail report lists the approved sales orders and return authorizations for each item. It also lists the amount, date, and sales rep. This report totals the sales order and return authorization amounts for each item, and it groups items by item type.
With Narrative Insights, you can use generative AI to summarize the report, helping you identify top-selling items and categories, understand item sales trends, and highlight key drivers in your sales performance.
The generated insights may include:

Items with the highest sales revenue and units sold

Item categories generating the highest revenue

Insights on whether sales are concentrated in specific categories or distributed across many

Details about any significant risks or exceptions related to item sales
To generate an insight on the Sales Orders by Item Detail report, the Enable Narrative Insights preference must be enabled in the Narrative Insights tab of the AI Preferences page. This preference is enabled by default. For more information, see Managing Narrative Insights Preferences.

To view the Sales Orders by Item Detail report:
Go to Customers > Customer Reports > Sales Orders by Item > Detail.
A popup message appears to let you know your report is loading. The status bar in the footer of the report indicates the progress as your report loads. You can click Cancel Report next to the status bar to stop the report from loading.
This report does not support reporting by period even when the Report by Period preference is set to All Reports. You can configure the Report by Period preference. Go to Home > Set Preferences. The preference is on the Analytics subtab.
To generate an insight on the Sales Orders by Item Detail report:

Filter the report to include only the information you want the insight to reflect.

Click the Generate Insight button.
The Narrative Insights dialog is displayed. You can generate the insight again at any time by clicking the Generate Insight button.
Insights may differ each time they're generated, even when you're viewing the same data.
