Setting Up Project 360 Dashboard Portlets

The Project 360 Dashboard portlets display data from various features of NetSuite. Some portlets on the SuiteApp need to be configured before they'll display any content.

You can also set preferences like color theme, fonts, chart theme, centers and dashboards, and other. The Project 360 Dashboard supports the Redwood Experience Theme. For more information, see Personal Preferences for Appearance.

Project Portfolio Portlets Set Up

The following table describes the tasks to set up the Project Portfolio portlets:

My Project Portfolio Portlet

  • Create a Project Record – Create a project record so you can track key deliverables for completion. Project records store information like customer, start date, and status. For more information, see Creating a Project Record.

    Ensure that project status is set. Only projects marked In progress, Awarded, or Pending display in the portlet.

  • Assign a Project Manager – Employees with full permissions to the project record need to assign a project manager so they can access the records and pages for the projects. For more information, see Assigning a Project Manager to a Project.

Project Overview Portlets Set Up

The following table describes the tasks to set up the Project Overview portlets:

Key Performance Indicators Portlet

  • Create a Project Budget – Set up a project budget to plan your spending for completing the project. The Budget vs. EAC gauge chart sources data from your project budget.

    To set up a project budget, see Creating a Budget from a Work Breakdown Structure.

  • For the Profitability gauge chart setup, see the requirement listed on Financial Portlets Set Up.

    The gauge chart displays the values and chart colors (green, amber, or red) when there are transactions associated to the project.

Primary Information Portlet

No prior setup is required.

When you create a project record, the system automatically populates the project’s primary information.

Team Details Portlet

Project Documents Portlet

No prior setup is required.

When you create a project record, the system automatically displays the project documents attached to the project record.

Client Contact Portlet

  • Create a Contact Record – To create a new contact for individuals you do business with, read Creating a Contact.

    The portlet shows only a contact with a Primary Contact role.

  • Associate a Contact to the Customer Record – To associate a contact with the customer record, see Associating a Contact with a Record.

    Ensure to select the customer to which you associate the contact in the Customer field of the project record.

Resource Planning Portlets Set Up

The following table describes the tasks to set up the Resource Planning portlets:

  • Create a Project Schedule – Create a project plan to lay out the timeline for delivering the project. To create a project schedule, see Working with the Project Schedule.

  • Create a Project Task or Milestone Task – A Gantt chart requires at least one milestone task or project task to display the data on the portlet.

    To create a project task, see Creating a Project Task Record.

    To create a milestone task, see Creating Milestone Tasks.

Resource Allocation Chart/Grid Portlet

Milestones Portlet

Create a Milestone Task – Create milestones to mark a significant progress toward the goal of the project.

Timesheet Tracking Portlet

Enable the Required Feature – You must enable the Weekly Timesheets feature to view the data on the portlet. For more information, See Enabling Features.

Actual Hours vs. Planned Hours by Resources Portlet

  • Set Project Preferences – Check the Allow Time Entry and Create Planned Time Entries boxes on the Preferences subtab of the project record.

  • Assign a Resource to a Project Task – Assign a resource to a project task to generate the planned time. For more information, see Assigning Project Resources.

The Actual Hours data on the graph are shown after the project managers approve the timesheets submitted for the project.

Budget and EAC Portlets Set Up

Invoices and unbilled charges associated to the project appear on the portlet after creating the transaction.

Client Contact Portlet

This portlet is similar with the Client Contact portlet on the Project Overview page, which displays the information from the contact record you associate to the project.

Financial Portlets Set Up

The following table describes the tasks required to set up the Financial portlets:

The portlet displays the graph when there are invoices for the project to show.

Project Profitability Portlet
