Set Up Domains for Web Stores
Starting April 2, 2025, NetSuite will end support for non-secure (HTTP) domains, and the option to create new, non-secure domains has been removed from all accounts. To ensure a seamless transition and enhance your security, you should secure all your domains. See Secure Your Domain.
Before you begin setting up domains for your online store, you need to know which types of domain you want to set up. The possibilities are:
-
Single secure domain for both shopping and checkout -follow the steps in Set Up a Domain for the domain type Single Domain for Web Store and Checkout.
This type of domain lets you run your shopping and checkout under a single secure HTTPS domain. A single domain provides your customers with a seamless buying experience.
Note:The following requirements and limitations apply:
-
If you are using SuiteCommerce MyAccount, the Domain Type associated with the SuiteCommerce MyAccount implementation should be set to Single Domain for Webstore and Checkout.
-
Single Domain for Web Store and Checkout domains are not available in Site Builder.
-
-
Secure shopping domain combined with separate secure checkout domain
-
For the shopping domain, follow the steps in Set Up a Domain for the domain type Web Store Only. Ensure you follow the steps in Secure Your Domain to secure the shopping domain.
-
For the secure checkout domain:
-
If you want to use the default checkout domain (for example:
123456.secure.netsuite.com
, where 123456 is your account ID), this is set up automatically when you set up a Web Store Only domain -
If you want to use a custom checkout domain, follow the steps in Set Up a Domain for the domain type Checkout Only.
To link a custom checkout domain or an unbranded NetSuite checkout subdomain with the secure shopping domain, follow the steps in Link a Checkout Domain with your Web Store.

For more information about these domain types, see Types of Domains and Domain Options for Web Stores.
After you have set up the domains you need, you must Point Your Domain Name at Your Domain (DNS Settings). Doing so makes it available to your customers.
To supplement your web store, you can also set up the following types of domain as described in Set Up a Domain.
-
Hosted Web Page— Hosted web page domains point to a page hosted in your NetSuite File Cabinet. Hosted web page domains are not associated with a Web Site Setup record and do not offer the web store functionality, such as checkout. However, they can be used for any kind of static website, for example, a promotional website.
-
Redirect URL— Redirect URL domains redirect the URL to a URL on a different website or a page on a different site. See SEO and Redirects for more information.
-
Promotional URL— Promotional URL domains redirect the URL to a promotional URL you create at Setup > Other Setup > Promotional URLs > New. See Promotional URLs and for more information.
-
Email Campaign Domain— Email campaign domains replace references to
netsuite.com
in your email and marketing templates with your own domain. It is required if you send more than 10,000 emails per month with campaigns or email merge operations. See Website Domains and Email Hosting and for more information.
All of these domains must be set up as secure domains. See Secure Your Domain.
After you have finished setting up your domain, the Domain Health Status feature shows you if the setup has been done correctly and provides guidance on how to fix any errors. See Troubleshoot Domain Setup Errors for details.
