Origin Information in Assembly, Lot, and Serial Numbered Items for Brazil
To access the Brazil Localization SuiteApp documentation in Brazilian Portuguese (Português do Brasil), see Brazil Localization.
The place of origin of an item can be relevant for taxation, electronic invoicing, and reporting purposes.
For individual items, you can define the origin directly in the item record. For more information, see Creating Items for Brazil. For individual incoming items, you can also define the origin directly in the inbound transaction, such as vendor bills and inbound deliveries.
For items composed of multiple parts or identified by different serial numbers, the origin may depend on the share of domestic and imported goods that make up the final product. The Brazil Localization SuiteApp enables you to enter the origin information for the following types of items:
-
Assembly item – An inventory item made up of several components, but identified as a single item.
For more information, see Defining the Origin of Assembly Items for Brazil.
-
Lot numbered item – A group of items identified by a lot number.
-
Serial numbered item – An item that can have different quantities of each serial number available in different locations.
For more information, see Defining the Origin and FCI Control Number in Inventory Details.
