Changes to Global Search

Search bookings, expense reports, receipts, phases, tasks, milestones, workspaces, and workspace documents, and search projects by internal ID.

Extended coverage

The following table lists the additional record types you can search in 2025.1, and for each record type, the information included in the search results. Search results show the information in the order listed. The first information listed for each record type is shown on the first line of the search result entry, followed in some cases by a badge showing the information listed in bold text. You can use all listed information except the information listed in italic text in your search.

Coverage for these new object types is enabled by default but optional. Account administrators control coverage for these additional object types in your company's account.

Note:

SuiteProjects Pro plans to make global search coverage for contacts and guest users available in a minor release before the 2025.2 major release. When new object type coverage becomes available in a minor release, the additional coverage is initially turned off by default, then enabled as part of the next major release.

Project search by internal ID

You can search projects by internal ID using the Global Search feature. To do so, include the internal ID of the project you're looking for in your search phrase. The internal ID is shown in the search results.

Note:

Searching by internal ID is currently limited to projects only.

All users can search the projects they have access to by internal ID, independently of whether your account configuration and role permissions allows you to view internal IDs in list views.

When searching a project by internal ID, the search results may also include other objects matching the integer number. You can include additional information to refine your search if needed.

For more information about the Global Search feature, see Getting Started with Global Search.

For more information about the global search administration settings, see Global Search.

Changes to Next-Generation Homepage

Add area, line, vertical bar, vertical stacked bar, donut and pie charts to the next-generation homepage.

The next-generation homepage now lets you use data visualization to quickly interpret and compare your report data.

  • Line (area, line), bar (bar, stacked bar) and pie (pie, donut) charts are available in SuiteProjects Pro 2025.1. Additional chart types will be available in future releases.

  • Use the first column in your report, or the date (dynamic time period) as category (x-axis) for your bar and line charts. Select the values you want to measure on the y-axis. You can use whichever is not already selected as series and show different sets of lines of bars for each combination of series and values.

This release also includes the following usability improvements:

  • Lists on the next-generation homepage include the Actions column. You can use an action to run reports from a report list in the homepage, for example.

  • The total row in list portlets is always visible and includes the number of rows in the full-page list as well as the number of rows visible in the list portlet.

  • A confirmation message is shown if there are unsaved changes in the personalize view, edit region, or content setup drawer and you press Esc, click Cancel, or click outside the drawer.

  • You can also press Enter to save changes in the content portlet setup drawer.

  • Previously, the list portlet on the homepage showed an error if it was set up to use a list layout that is not available. This may happen if you are using a default homepage setup that was created and copied to your user account, and the layout selected in the list portlet setup is not or no longer an existing public layout, for example. Now, the homepage shows the list with the standard layout instead.

For more information about the next-generation homepage, see Getting Started with the Next-Generation Homepage.
