Setting up a Penalty

After setting up your wage agreement, classifications, and conditions, you can assign penalties or fixed increases to a shift or period of shifts. You can set up different penalty rates for different employee levels.

To set up a penalty:

  1. Open the wage agreement. See Accessing Wage Agreements.

  2. Click the Penalties subtab.

  3. Click + New penalty…

  4. On the Create new Penalty window, complete the fields.

    • Condition – Select the condition that applies to the penalty.

    • Increase – Enter the amount to give to employees when the penalty is applied.

    • Levels – Choose an option.

      • Any – The penalty applies to any level.

      • Between level 0 and level 0 (inclusive) – Enter the range of levels that can receive the penalty. For example, if the penalty is for Level 1 and lower, enter Level 0 and Level 1. If it’s for Level 2 and above enter Level 2 and Level 0.

    • Jobs – From the Available Choices panel, select the jobs that can receive this penalty. If the penalty applies to all employees or shifts, do not select jobs. When you assign a job to a penalty, only the shifts with one of those jobs will be eligible for the penalty.

  5. Click Save.
