Setting Benchmark 360 Preferences

Use the Benchmark 360 preferences page to set the conditions for displaying the benchmark data in the dashboard. The scope of data shown on the dashboard depends on the combination of industry, region, and workbooks you select.

Users with an Administrator role can set the preferences for Benchmark 360 dashboard.

To set the Benchmark 360 preferences:

Note:

When you update the target values under Subsidiary subtab the values do not subsequently change on the Key Performance Indicator subtab.

Blank Target fields on the Subsidiary subtab inherit the values from the Key Performance Indicator subtab if the following conditions are met after clicking Save:

  • the Industry and Region fields for the Parent Subsidiary and Subsidiary are the same.

  • the Industry and Region fields on the Subsidiary subtab are blank.

Subsidiaries with Industry and Region that are different from the Parent Subsidiary fetch the values for the blank Target fields from APQC.

  1. Go to Lists> Benchmark 360 > Benchmark 360. Then, click Preferences on the left navigation panel.

  2. Under the Account Preferences section, select a value for the following required fields:

    • Industry- Select the type of business of your company.

    • Region- Select the region where your company operates.

    • Company Size- This field is optional. Select the approximate size of your company.

  3. Under the Classification section, on the Key Performance Indicator subtab, verify that the fields for Key Performance Indicator and KPI Workbook columns have values:

    1. Key Performance Indicator - The list of KPIs under this column are preselected and are not editable:

      • Days Cash on Hand

      • Days Sales Outstanding

      • Days Payable Outstanding

      • Employee Turnover Rate

      • Revenue per FTE

    2. KPI Workbook- This column shows all the preselected workbook for each KPI except for Employee Turnover Rate which does not require a workbook.

If you do not select a workbook or have selected an incorrect workbook, no data can be shown in the dashboard.

You can change the workbook by selecting from the dropdown list or create a custom workbook. To view the guidelines for creating a custom workbook, see Guidelines for Creating a Custom Workbook for Benchmark 360.

    3. Target-Enter numerical values for the KPI target. The values you enter only applies to the parent subsidiary.

If a Target field is blank, the system fetches the Median value from the benchmark data sourced from APQC. Then it populates data only for the same Industry and Region combination.

  4. Click Save.

  5. On the Subsidiary subtab, add values for the following columns for each subsidiary:

    • Region

    • Industry

    • KPI Workbook

    • Target

      Note:

The Target fields are disabled on new installs, on preferences that are not yet set, and when there no benchmark data available.

If the benchmark data becomes available, the Target fields get updated and become editable.

This field does not require a thousands separator but requires a period (.) as a decimal separator.

The system shows all the active subsidiaries available in your account except for parent subsidiary.

  6. Click Save.
