Managing Inventory

Field Service Management (FSM) uses standard NetSuite location records for central warehouses and technician inventory. Each technician's assigned location determines which inventory they can use in Mobile.

Locations are standard NetSuite inventory locations that FSM uses for warehouses and technician vans. Warehouse locations contain central inventory. Van locations contain inventory assigned to individual technicians. On each technician's employee record, assign the appropriate van location.

• Technicians can use only inventory that is available at their assigned employee location.

• Operations users replenish van inventory with transfer orders and receive or correct inventory at the appropriate location.

• Incorrect location information can prevent inventory consumption and fulfillment in Mobile, even when inventory is available at other company locations.
