Consumables
A Field Service Consumable record identifies an inventory item that a technician uses during a task. The record includes the task, asset, employee, item, and quantity. It also includes the location when applicable. In Mobile, technicians record consumables one item at a time, typically for the related asset.
When a technician completes the task, you can use consumable records to create or update a sales order and, when configured, fulfill the order. Billing rules determine whether an item is billable, its price level, and other applicable billing behavior. Technicians do not set prices in Mobile unless your FSM is configured to do so.
Consumable records provide a history of the items used for each asset. This history is useful for tasks that include multiple assets. Consumable records associate items used by the technician with the appropriate task and asset. When configured, consumable records can trigger sales order and fulfillment activity.
Before you correct a consumable record, determine whether the issue involves the item, technician location, task or asset selection, quantity, or sales order and fulfillment configuration.
