Fingerprint Scanner Troubleshooting and Maintenance
If you experience issues with the fingerprint scanner, try the following tips:
-
Wipe the glass scanning area with a tissue or cloth to remove some of the oils from previous finger scans.
-
Have the employee rub the finger they are going to scan between their thumb and forefinger to "warm it up". This will allow a clearer read on the finger.
-
Ensure the employee presses firmly on the glass with the finger in the correct position. A light touch will not get a clear read.
-
Have the employee register their fingerprints for all 10 fingers.
-
Check that the USB port for the fingerprint scanner is firmly plugged into the computer to ensure a stable connection.
SuitePeople Time Clock PIN Codes
Each employee has their own PIN Code.
Randomly generated PINs are created automatically. To grant an employee a PIN or change a PIN for an employee, go to the employee's profile and select Timesheet PIN. You can enter in a new PIN, or select Generate PIN to generate a random unique PIN.
