Displaying Deposit Balance on Customer Statements and Remittance Slips
You can add a Deposit Balance field to customer statements or remittance slips so customers can see any unapplied deposit amount left on their account. By default, the Deposit Balance field doesn't show on customer statements or remittance slips.
Similar to the Deposit Balance field, you can also add a Net Amount Due field to customer statements and remittance slips. If you show Net Amount Due, it's assumed that your company applies the deposit balance to any open invoices on or before the payment due date. Therefore, Net Amount Due is the Statement Balance less Deposit Balance. If you don't plan to apply the deposit balance to any open invoices, for example a security deposit on hold, don't show the Net Amount Due field. Please note that even if you add these on customer statements or remittance slips, these fields don't show on printed invoices.
The Deposit Balance and Net Amount Due fields use the same currency as the statement. For consolidated statements, the Deposit Balance on the statement is the consolidated deposit balance for the parent and all sub-customers. The Net Amount Due is the amount due of all customers less the consolidated deposit balance.
For more information, see either Customer Statements or see Remittance Forms.
