Deleting Linked Bank Accounts
You can delete bank accounts linked with BILL in the Payment methods widget of the Bank Accounts page.
Examples of when you may need to delete a bank account:
-
You entered the wrong account details and cannot verify the bank account.
-
You no longer use the bank account that is linked with BILL.
When you delete a linked bank account,
-
Any payments which are pending approval and not yet submitted to BILL for processing fail and no amount is debited. The Automated Bill Payments checkbox is cleared for these payments.
-
Any payment runs which are pending approval and not yet submitted to BILL for processing fail and no amount is debited.
-
Any ACH payments which are sent to BILL but not paid fail and the funding amount is credited back to your bank account.
-
Any check payments which are sent to BILL but not credited to vendor's bank are voided and the funding amount is credited back to the bank account.
If any payments fail because the linked bank account is deleted, you need to initiate new payments for the bills processed as part of the failed payments.
If the deleted bank account is the default bank account, you need to add a new default bank account.
If this is the only bank account linked to your BILL account, you can't delete it.
