Reporting Data for Standalone Assembly Items

Using the app, you can report manufacturing data for assembly items built without a work order reference. Manufacturing Mobile processes both production and consumption data at the same time.

You can report data for regular inventory, including lot and serialized numbered inventory. Currently, numbered inventory are automatically backflushed from the staging bin.

You cannot use a scanner to report non-inventory and charge items. They are backflushed at a standard proportional to build or completed quantity.

The following instructions continue from Recording an Assignment.

To report data for standalone assembly items:

  1. On the Work Options page, tap Standalone Assembly.

  2. Scan, enter, or select an assembly item. If you enter the data, tap Enter Assembly to proceed.

    Note:

The components on the assembly item record are processing by default. If you use the Advanced Bill of Materials (BOM) feature, you must select an assembly that has a default BOM on which processing is based on. See Advanced Bill of Materials.

  3. To report the quantity you want to build, do any of the following depending on the item type:

    • For regular items, enter each Quantity to Add. Then, tap Add.

    • For lot items, set values in the following fields: Scan/Enter Lot, (optional) Expiry Date, and Lot Quantity to Add. Then, tap Add.

    • For serialized items, scan or enter the serial number. If you enter the data, tap Add Serial Number.

As you add quantities, the Reported Quantity displays the total quantity reported in consumption units.

  4. After you add all the quantities, tap Next to report the consumption data.

  5. On the Select Component page, you can review the list of inventory component Items for the assembly item. For each inventory item, you can also view the Standard consumption quantity recorded in the associated BOM. If you want to change the Actual consumption quantity, do the following:

    1. Tap the Item to open the Enter Quantity page. Alternatively, you can scan the item, or enter the item name and then tap Select.

    2. Enter the actual quantity consumed. You can enter 0 if no quantity has been consumed.

The quantity you enter replaces the one currently displayed in the Actual column.

    3. Tap Enter Quantity.

  6. After reviewing or changing the consumption quantities, tap Complete.

Both lot and serialized items are automatically issued from the staging bin for the actual consumption quantity. Lot items are consumed based on their expiry date, following the FEFO method. If a lot has no expiry date or if multiple lots have the same expiry date, consumption follows the order from Maximum Lot Quantity to Minimum Lot Quantity.
