Link Your Commerce Applications to a Domain
After you have installed your Commerce application into your NetSuite account, you must link the application to a domain before you can view your site. First, you should link to a development domain for testing. Later, when you are satisfied with your web store, you can follow the same procedures listed here to link to a production domain.
These procedures assume that you have already acquired and set up one or more domains for your website. If you have not yet acquired a domain and set it up for NetSuite, see Domains. After your domain is ready, return to this topic to set up your web store.
To complete your application installation, you need to perform the following procedures:
-
Link your application to a domain – This step links the SSP Application for your implementation to a previously set up domain.
-
Deploy the SuiteScript 2.0 (SS2) application – This step deploys the SS2 SSP Application for your implementation to your domain or site.
A development domain is the domain used by developers before your site goes live. In the early stages of site set up, the best practice is to link your application to this development domain to ensure everything is set up correctly. When you are ready to go live with your web store, follow this same procedure to link the application to your production domain.
To link your application to your domain:
-
In NetSuite, go to Commerce > Hosting > SSP Applications.
-
Click View next to the correct application:
Implementation
Application Name
SuiteCommerce
SuiteCommerce
SuiteCommerce MyAccount
SuiteCommerce
SuiteCommerce Advanced
SuiteCommerce Advanced -Dev xxxx
(where xxxx equals the SCA version being installed)
-
Click Link to Domain to link touch points to your domain.
Important:Touch points configured for a domain override the touch points configured for the related web site. To take advantage of themes and extensions, you must link the SSP to a domain. However, you must also define touch points on the web site record. Domain-only touch point configuration is not supported. See Link a Website or Domain to an SSP Application and Select Supported Touch Points for details.
The next step is to deploy the SuiteCommerce SS2 SSP Application to a domain and a site in NetSuite. If you are implementing the 2018.2 release of SCA or earlier, you can disregard the next procedure.
To deploy the SuiteScript 2.0 (SS2) application:
-
In NetSuite, go to Commerce > Hosting > SSP Applications.
-
Click View next to the correct SS2 application:
Note:The SS2 SSP Application is included with SuiteCommerce, SuiteCommerce MyAccount, and SuiteCommerce Advanced applications (2019.1 and later). This SSP Application is required to manage scripting written in SuiteScript 2.0. For an advanced description of SSP Applications written for SuiteScript 2.0, see SuiteScript 2.0 SSP Applications.

If your Commerce website uses a single, secure domain for shopping and checkout:
Note:This step includes SuiteCommerce MyAccount implementations, which should be set up to use a single, secure domain.
-
In the SSP Application record, click Deploy to Domain.
-
In the Domain field, select the domain for your site.
-
Click Save.
-
-
If your Commerce web store uses two separate domains for shopping and checkout:
-
In the SSP Application record, click Deploy to Site.
-
In the Deploy to All Shopping Domains on Site field, select the site associated with your shopping domain.
-
In the Deploy to Checkout Domain on Site field, select the site associated with your checkout domain.
-
Now that your applications are installed and properly linked to a domain, you are ready to configure the Web Site Setup record. See Prepare the Web Site Setup Record for details. This involves the following steps:
-
Setting up minimum Web Site Setup fields to get started
-
Setting up field sets
-
Establishing a search index (SC and SCA sites)
