NetSuite CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) AI Assistant is an interactive generative artificial intelligence (AI) tool that helps you work with configurable items in the NetSuite CPQ Configurator. These items include inventory items, non-inventory items, and assemblies.

Whether you’re a first-time buyer or an experienced sales rep, the assistant helps you build an item configuration that fits your needs. Using simple, natural language, you can describe what you’re looking for, and the assistant guides you through the configuration process. It uses a large language model (LLM) to interpret your input and responds with helpful information about the item you’re configuring. Based on the details you provide, it guides you through configuring an item that fits your needs.

How NetSuite CPQ AI Assistant Works

The content provided by AI is used to make suggestions based on your input. By using the assistant, you assume responsibility for validating or approving the recommendation. Your data may be processed globally according to the Oracle Services Privacy Policy.

When you select a configurable item, such as a bicycle, a Configure with CPQ Assistant button appears in the bottom-right corner of the transaction. When you click this button, the assistant starts a chat and asks questions based on what you selected. Describe what you need, like saying you want a general-purpose bike for parks and light trails. You can ask the assistant questions about an item to get clear, tailored answers. You can also tell the assistant what you’re looking for, and it will help you build and customize an item configuration that meets your requirements.

As you work with the assistant, it may ask follow-up questions to better understand your needs and fine-tune your item configuration. You can skip these questions and keep moving forward. The more information you give, the more tailored your configuration will be to what you need.

After the assistant configures your item, you can see which options were selected and why. The assistant may show specified options, which are what it thinks are the best fit, as well as recommended options based on your configuration. You can choose to apply all options, only the specified options, or only the recommended options. You can also apply none of these suggestions and continue adjusting your configuration before saving.

Note:

The assistant is available for a configurable item only when the item has a Ready status and is marked as available in the product record. Users with an Administrator role or a CPQ Product Builder role create configurable items, represented by product records, for NetSuite CPQ AI Assistant. Users can then configure products and services based on their needs.
