Generating Question and Answer Descriptions Using Batch Generation
NetSuite CPQ AI Assistant lets you batch-generate question and answer descriptions. Batch generation creates better, more consistent, and context-aware descriptions by processing question and answer records at the same time, saving you time compared to doing it manually. Batch generation is especially helpful during a new implementation or after updating a series of products.
For the best results, finish setting up all product, question, and answer records before generating AI descriptions. After the descriptions are generated, you should verify that they're relevant.
When using the Generate feature powered by AI in your setup process, the tool creates text descriptions for any blank Question or Answer fields without changing existing information. You should review the generated content for both accuracy and quality. Ensure your product configurator setup is complete before proceeding. By continuing, you acknowledge your responsibility to validate AI-generated content. For more information, refer to the Oracle Services Privacy Policy.
You can create, edit, extend, or replace AI descriptions for each record as you set them up. However, running batch generation after you’ve finished setup usually gives more accurate and consistent results. You can always review and update the AI-generated content as needed.
To generate question and answer descriptions using batch generation:
-
Make sure your configuration is fully set up, with all question and answer records completed and saved. For details, see NetSuite CPQ Configurator Products, Working with Questions, and Working with Answers.
-
Go to CPQ > Configurator > Product Maintenance.
-
Click Edit next to the product you want to modify.
-
Click the CPQ AI Assistant subtab, and then the AI Assistant subtab.
-
Click Generate Descriptions.
The assistant automatically uses the names, descriptions, and related context to create all needed AI-generated descriptions for every question and answer in the configuration that aren't excluded from the AI assistant and don't already have a description. The time this takes depends on the number of related records. Users with an Administrator role or a CPQ Product Builder role receive an email notification when the generation process is finished.
-
After generation finishes you should review and edit any AI-generated descriptions. You can review the new descriptions from:
-
The CPQ AI Assistant subtab of the main product record (for an overview).
-
The CPQ AI Assistant subtab on each question or answer record (for a detailed review).
-
Make sure all fields meet AI readiness criteria for the product to be marked as Ready. For details, see AI Readiness.
