Enabling Inventory Optimization
Before you use the Inventory Optimization feature, enable the required features and assign access to the roles that use inventory optimization records and tasks.
Prerequisites
Inventory Optimization requires Advanced Inventory Management.
To segment inventory by item-location, the account must also use Advanced Item Location Configuration.
After you enable Inventory Optimization, you can include eligible Reorder Point items.
To enable Inventory Optimization:

Go to Setup > Company > Setup Tasks > Enable Features.

Click the Items & Inventory subtab.

In the Inventory section, check the Inventory Optimization box.

Click Save.
Enabling the feature does not immediately change item planning values. You must set preferences, include eligible items, and run the related calculations.
Inventory Optimization Permission
The Inventory Optimization permission controls access to segment records, segmentation tasks, event logs, and result pages. For more information, see NetSuite Roles Overview.
The Accounting Preferences permission controls access to Inventory Management Preferences and the Optimization Preferences subtab.
The Items permission controls access to item records and the Calculate Inventory Levels page.
To run Calculate Inventory Levels for Inventory Optimization, a role needs the Items and Inventory Optimization permissions.
After you enable Inventory Optimization and assign the required permission, users can review segment records and run segmentation calculations.
