Add Ingredients to Recipe

  1. On the Dashboard page, click Recipe, and then Recipe List.
  2. Click the New Recipe button.
  3. Enter the Recipe Details.

See Recipe Details for more information about each field.

  4. In the Recipe Builder section, add the items required to produce the recipe in the Ingredients tab.

Ingredients can be single stock items or sub-recipes that contain additional items and/or sub-recipes. There is no limit to the number of nested recipe levels.

    Note:

A recipe cannot be saved unless it contains at least one ingredient.
    1. Click the Add button adjacent to an ingredient to add it to the recipe.

The list on the left shows all available items and recipes that can be used as ingredients in the recipe. See Available Ingredients List for more information about the filters and information displayed.

The list on the right shows the ingredients already added to the recipe. See Recipe Ingredients List for more information about the filters and information displayed.

    2. In the Add dialog, enter the Potential Quantity.
    3. Select the Unit of Measure (UOM).
    4. Enter the Loss % value.

Based on the potential quantity and the loss factor, the actual quantity is calculated.

For example, beef typically has a preparation and cooking loss of approximately 15%. If the desired serving quantity is 250 grams, enter this value as the Potential Quantity and specify a 15% Loss. The application then calculates the required raw quantity, which in this example is 294.118 grams. This value is used to calculate the Cost of Sales.

    5. Click the Add button to save the ingredient in the recipe. The ingredient displays in the list on the right.
    6. Click the Save button.
  5. See Recipe Builder for information about Nutrition Facts, Additives, Allergens, and Portions and Pricing in the related subtabs.
