Creating a Communication Distribution Message Configuration
Introduction
Communication Distribution Message facilitates the distribution of message to your customers based on the data provided by you. It enables you to orchestrate message delivery to your customers through Telesign or Twilio Supplier.
Prerequisites
Following are the prerequisites to consider before creating a Communication Distribution Message configuration in Communication Cloud Service:

Configure Entitlements | Ensure that you have the required entitlements to create a Communication Distribution Message.

Creating a Communication Distribution Message and Associating Marketing Company
- Access the Oracle Financial Services Cloud application.
- From Menu, select Communication.
- Under Communication, select Distribution and then select Communication Distribution Message.
- On the Communication Distribution Message landing page, select Create.
- In Basic Information section, enter the Name, Long Name and Description (optional), to identify the Communication Distribution Message.
- In Brand (Marketing Company) section, select Add Marketing Company and then select the Marketing Company that you want to associate to the Communication Distribution Message.
Note:
You can associate only one Marketing Company per Communication Distribution Message configuration. - In Status section, Active Date is set to the current date when the Communication Distribution Message is created. You can modify it to a future date, if required.
- Select Save to save the details, or Save & Continue to save the information and continue to create the Communication Distribution Message Detail.
Creating a Detail
In the Communication Distribution Message Detail configuration, you can set required Scenario (Dimensions) to required Transaction Type events. Detail configuration is associated to a Process Table where you can define the sequence of Process and Service configurations to be executed. Based on the Transaction Type request received from the source service or application or the overridden Transaction Type information available within the Communication Detail, the corresponding Detail, Process and Service configurations get executed.
- On Create Communication Distribution Message Detail page, under Basic Information section, enter the Name, Long Name, and Description (optional) to identify the Communication Distribution Message Detail.
- In Scenarios (Dimensions) section, select value from Communication Transaction Type, to define the transaction event. If you select User Defined, then you must enter a Communication User Transaction Type value. For example, enter the Communication User Transaction Type as SMS Delivery Only, for sending promotional messages.
Note:
The value you enter in Communication User Transaction Type corresponds only to this Detail configuration. - In Status section, Active Date is set to the current date when the Communication Distribution Message Detail is created. You can modify it to a future date.
- Select Save to save the details, or Save & Continue to save the information and continue to create the Communication Distribution Message Process.
Creating a Process
In the Communication Distribution Message Process, you can set the Process Supplier Error Behavior.
To create a Communication Distribution Message Process, follow these steps:
- In Basic Information section, enter the Name, Long Name, and Description (optional) to identify the Communication Distribution Message Process.
- In Process Type section:
- Process Type is auto populated as SMS Delivery.
- Select a Process Supplier Error Behavior. This determines how a Process behaves if the Service that it calls returns any type of error.
Process Supplier Error Behavior Description Complete Process if Any Service Completes The process continues if one or more Services complete successfully, even if any of the Service returns error. Abort Process if Any Service Errors The process aborts if any of the Service returns error.
- In Status section, Active Date is set to the current date when the Communication Distribution Message Process is created. You can modify it to a future date.
- Select Save to save the details, or Save & Continue to save the information and continue to create the Communication Distribution Message Service.
Creating a Service
Using the Communication Distribution Message Service, you can select the Supplier Service using which you want to finally send message to your customer.
To create a Communication Distribution Message Service, follow these steps:
- In Create Communication Distribution Message Service page, under Basic Information section enter the Name, Long Name, and Description (Optional) to identify the Communication Distribution Message Service.
- In Status section, Active Date is set to the current date when the Communication Distribution Message Service is created. You can modify it to a future date.
- Select Save to save the information, and associate Supplier Service Component.
Associating Required Supplier Service Component
After saving the Service configuration, the Supplier Service Component and Associations sections are displayed.
To select Supplier Service Component and Associate the Supplier Service integration, follow these steps:
- Select a Supplier Service Component. This determines the supplier service you want to execute to distribute the message to your customers.
Note:
Depending on the selected Supplier Service Component, the relevant service configuration options are displayed under the Associations section. - In Associations section, select Add next to the service configuration and select the Supplier Service configuration that you want to associate.
Note:
You can add only one Supplier Service configuration per Communication Distribution Message. - Select Save to save the information, or Save & Continue to save and continue creating Contextualize Table.
Creating a Table for Communication Distribution Message
To create a Table, you need to configure at least one Process under Communication Distribution Message configuration. The Table determines which processes to execute and in what order when the Communication Distribution Message configuration is considered for execution. Through this Table you can define which process and linked service the Communication Distribution Message configuration should execute. After each process has completed, the Table determines the next process to execute, or whether processing is complete.
- You are redirected to the Communication Distribution Message Detail that you have already created. Or from the left navigation, select the Distribution Communication Distribution Message Detail that you have created.
- On Update Communication Distribution Message Detail page, under Associations, select Add next to Contextualize Table.
- Enter the required information to create a Table. See Creating a Contextualized Table for more information.
Maintaining a Communication Distribution Message Configuration
Introduction
You can update or delete a Communication Distribution Message configuration to meet changing business needs. When you replace or add new associations, ensure that those configurations belong to the same Config ID that you used to create the Communication Distribution Message configuration.
If the initial Config ID used for creating a Communication Distribution Message Configuration is closed, and if you want to edit the configuration, see Editing a Configuration after Closing the Config ID.
- Editing a Communication Distribution Message Configuration: Update the basic information of the Communication Distribution Message configuration and Active Date, replace the Marketing Company, or add new Detail under the same configuration.
- Editing a Communication Distribution Message Detail: Update the basic information of the Detail, Active Date, or add new Detail under the same configuration or Process under the same Detail configuration.
- Editing a Communication Distribution Message Contextualized Table: Update Table Identification and Table Data or delete the Table.
- Editing a Communication Distribution Message Process: Update the basic information of the Process and Active Date or add new Process under the same Detail configuration.
- Editing a Communication Distribution Message Service: Update the basic information of the Service, Active Date, and Supplier Service Component. You can also remove the associated Supplier Service integration configuration.
- Deleting a Communication Distribution Message Service: Delete a Communication Distribution Message Service that you are no longer using, if the Config ID is open.
- Deleting a Communication Distribution Message Process: Delete a Communication Distribution Message Process that you are no longer using, if the Config ID is open.
- Deleting a Communication Distribution Message Detail: Delete a Communication Distribution Message Detail that you are no longer using, if the Config ID is open.
- Deleting a Communication Distribution Message Configuration: Delete a Communication Distribution Message configuration that you are no longer using, if the Config ID is open.
Editing a Communication Distribution Message Configuration
You can edit the basic information and Active Date of a Communication Distribution Message configuration. You can also add new Detail under the same configuration.
Perform the following steps:
- Access the Oracle Financial Services Cloud application.
- From Menu, select Communication.
- Under Communication, select Distribution, and then select Communication Distribution Message. This redirects you to the Communication Distribution Message landing page.
- To edit the Communication Distribution Message configuration, follow either one of these options from the landing page:
- From More Menu in Action column of the respective Communication Distribution Message configuration, select Edit.
- From the Name column, select the required configuration to view its Summary page. Then from the Summary page, select Edit.
This redirects you to Update Communication Distribution Message page.
- On Update Communication Distribution Message page, modify the information as required.
- To replace Marketing Company, under Brand (Marketing Company) section, from More Menu in Action column, and select Replace. Select a different Marketing Company belonging to the same Config ID.
- To add a new Detail, select Add Child from Actions in the top right corner, and provide information of the new Detail.
Editing a Communication Distribution Message Detail
You can edit the basic information and Active Date of a Communication Distribution Message Detail. You can add new Detail under the same configuration and add new Process under the same Detail.
- From the left pane of Update Communication Distribution Message page, navigate to the Detail and modify the basic information and Active Date, if required.
- Select Add Child from Actions in the top right corner, to create new Process under the same Detail configuration. Provide information of the new Process. See Creating a Process for more information.
- Select Add Sibling from Actions in the top right corner to create new Detail under the same Communication Distribution Message configuration, provide required information of the new Detail. See Creating a Detail, for more information.
Editing a Communication Distribution Message Contextualized Table
You can edit the Table Identification and Table Data of the Contextualized Table associated to Communication Distribution Message Detail configuration.
- From the left pane of Update Communication Distribution Message page, navigate to the Detail.
- Select Expand All under Associations section. Then select More Menu under Action column.
- Select Edit Table Identification. This redirects you to the Update Table page to update the basic information of the Contextualized Table.
- Use the Table left panel to navigate to Fact Input Columns. Select Add Additional Column from Actions in the top right corner to add column. See Configuring Input Facts, for more information.
- Select Remove corresponding to a column to remove the column from the Table.
- Select Edit Table Data. See Configuring Table Data, for more information. Select Delete to delete the Contextualized table. The initial Config ID used for creating the Contextualized Table should be Open.
Editing a Communication Distribution Message Process
You can edit the basic information and Active Date of a Communication Distribution Message Process. You can also add new Process under the same Detail configuration. Perform the following steps:
- From the left pane of Update Communication Distribution Message page, navigate to the Process and modify the basic information, Process Supplier Error Behavior or Active Date, if required.
- Select Add Sibling from Actions in the top right corner to create new Process under the same Detail configuration. Provide information of the new Process. See Creating a Process for more information.
Editing a Communication Distribution Message Service
You can edit the basic information and Active Date of a Communication Distribution Message Service. You can also remove the Supplier Service integration configuration from the Service.
Perform the following steps:
- From the left pane of Update Communication Distribution Message page, navigate to the Service and modify the basic information, Active Date or Supplier Service Component, if required.
- To remove Supplier Service integration configuration, select Expand All under Associations section. Then select More Menu under corresponding Action column and select Remove.
Deleting a Communication Distribution Message Service
To delete the Communication Distribution Message Service, it must not be associated to any other configurations.
Perform the following steps:
- Access the Oracle Financial Services Cloud application.
- From Menu, select Communication and then select Distribution.
- Under Distribution, select Communication Distribution Message. This redirects you to the Communication Distribution Message landing page.
- Follow either one of these options from the Communication Distribution Message landing page:
- From More Menu in Action column of the respective Communication Distribution Message configuration, select Edit.
- Select the Name of the respective Communication Distribution Message configuration. This redirects you to the summary page of the configuration. Select Edit.
- From the left pane, navigate to the Service you want to delete.
- If there are any associations, remove the association.
- Under Associations section, Select Expand all.
- Under Action column, select Remove corresponding to the association.
- On Update Communication Distribution Message Service page, from Actions from the top right corner, select Delete.
- In the dialog box, select Delete to confirm.
Deleting a Communication Distribution Message Process
To delete the Communication Distribution Message Process, it must not be associated to any other configurations, and all its child Service configurations should have been deleted.
Perform the following steps:
- From the left pane of Update Communication Distribution Message page, navigate to the Process you want to delete.
- On Update Communication Distribution Message Process page, from Actions in the top right corner, select Delete.
- In the dialog box, select Delete to confirm.
Deleting a Communication Distribution Message Detail
- From the left pane of Update Communication Distribution Message page, navigate to the Detail you want to delete.
- If there are any associations, remove the association.
- Under Associations section, select Expand all.
- Under Action column, select More Menu, and select Delete to delete the Contextualised Table.
- On Update Communication Distribution Message Detail page, from Actions from the top right corner, select Delete.
- In the dialog box, select Delete to confirm.
Deleting a Communication Distribution Message Configuration
You can delete a Communication Distribution Message configuration if it is no longer required. It must not be associated to any other configurations, and all its child Detail configurations should have been deleted. Before deleting a configuration, you must ensure that the initial Config ID used for configuration creation is open.
Perform the following steps:
- Access the Oracle Financial Services Cloud application.
- From Menu, select Communication and then select Distribution.
- Under Distribution, select Communication Distribution Message. This redirects you to the Communication Distribution Message landing page.
- Follow either one of these options from the Communication Distribution Message landing page:
- From More Menu in Action column of the respective Communication Distribution Message configuration, select Delete. In the dialog box, select Delete to confirm.
- Select the Name of the respective Communication Distribution Message configuration. This redirects you to the summary page of the configuration. Select Edit. This redirects you to Update Communication Distribution Message page. From Actions from the top right corner, select Delete. In the dialog box, select Delete to confirm.
