Update Location of a Device or Edge Node

You update location details from the item overview page of an individual device or edge node.

The Update location drawer contains the Registration and Deployment details section. When Registration address different from deployment location is cleared, the drawer shows a shared Registration/Deployment address field, Deployment coordinates with Latitude and Longitude, and a map for reviewing or selecting the deployment location.

When Registration address different from deployment location is selected, the shared address field is removed and you can update the deployment coordinates separately.

If Oracle ECP cannot derive an address from the coordinates, the application shows Valid address not found below the address field. Selecting a valid address updates the deployment coordinates and lets you save the change.

For devices, deployment address is optional and deployment coordinates are required. For edge nodes without Starlink, deployment address is optional and deployment coordinates are required. For Starlink-connected edge nodes, additional registration and country-specific rules apply. The Update location drawer does not support country changes for the registration address.

Procedure
  1. In the Inventory page, select Devices or Edge Nodes.
  2. Open the item overview page for the device or edge node.
  3. Click the Location tab.
  4. Click the edit icon.
  5. Update the location details in the Update location drawer.
  6. Click Update.
