About Configuration Management for Edge Nodes
Configuration management gives you a structured way to work with edge node settings.
Without configuration management, you might need to move across several pages to update related settings. With configuration management, you work in a single editor that organizes settings into configuration blocks. This approach helps you prepare a complete configuration, review it, keep track of versions, and apply it when the timing is right for your environment.
Oracle ECP supports two configuration workflows for edge nodes:
- Template-based configuration for reusable settings that you want to apply to one or more compatible edge nodes.
- Single-edge configuration for settings that you want to update directly on one edge node.
In most cases, you use template-based configuration when you want consistency and revision control. You use single-edge configuration when you need to update one specific edge node. Single-edge configuration is available from the The Edge Node Details Page.
