AI-Powered Action Suggestions in the Action Bar

AI-Powered Action Suggestions

The Action Bar Advisor is an AI-powered assistant built into the action bar that helps service representatives find the right smart actions and knowledge articles faster. Instead of typing an exact action name, reps simply describe what they need in plain language — the AI understands their intent and surfaces the most relevant options automatically. The feature activates when the rep types more than 14 characters, then filters the dropdown to show only matching smart actions and related knowledge article excerpts, side by side.

This is a ready-to-run, out-of-the-box capability — no configuration required.

Example Use Cases

  • Refund or Return Requests — A rep types "customer wants to return a product" and the advisor surfaces the correct return smart action and relevant return policy articles instantly.
  • Account Access Issues — A rep types "customer cannot log into their account" and the advisor filters to account reset or unlock actions with supporting troubleshooting guides.
  • Billing Disputes — A rep types "charge on invoice is incorrect" and the advisor recommends billing adjustment smart actions alongside knowledge articles on dispute resolution steps.

  • Reduces time spent searching for the right action, especially in high-pressure service interactions
  • Lowers training burden on new reps who don't yet know action names by heart
  • Improves first-contact resolution by surfacing relevant knowledge content alongside actions
  • Drives faster, more accurate customer service — directly impacting CSAT and operational efficiency

Steps to enable and configure

This feature is enabled out of the box — no setup or configuration is needed on your end. Once the feature is deployed to your environment, it is immediately available to all service representatives using the action bar.

Tips and considerations

  • The advisor activates only after 14 characters are typed — remind reps to use short descriptive phrases, not single keywords
  • Typos are tolerated — the AI extracts intent even with minor spelling errors, so reps don't need to be precise
  • The dropdown shows both smart actions and knowledge article excerpts at the same time — coach reps to scan both sections
  • If the input is 14 characters or fewer, the system falls back to standard smart action matching — this is expected behavior, not a bug
  • There is currently no custom extension supported for this feature; functionality is limited to out-of-the-box intent matching
