Define reusable User-Defined Access Paths

Redwood Platform

Define User-Defined Access Paths (UDAPs) for a selected data source and reuse them in access algorithms, entitlements, and filters. Reusing UDAPs eliminates the need to define the same access paths repeatedly.

With UDAPs, you can:

  • View UDAPs by reference code, name, short description, data source, usage count, and status.
  • Search, sort, and select UDAP records from the list.
  • Create UDAP definitions with a data source and included access paths.
  • Review where a UDAP is used by entitlements or filters.
  • Share UDAP records and manage stakeholders.
  • Use available actions, based on record status and authorization, to publish, archive, move records to trash, restore records, request access, migrate records, and import or export data.

Business benefit

UDAPs provide a consistent way to define and reuse configurations across Risk Management. This helps improve visibility into dependencies and supports more consistent administration of entitlements and filters.

Steps to enable and configure

To access User-Defined Access Paths:

  1. From the Newsfeed home page, open Risk Management.
  2. In the Algorithm module, select User-Defined Access Paths in the in-app navigation to view and manage UDAPs.

Tips and considerations

  • Search requires at least three characters, supports up to 100 characters, and searches across all columns, including hidden columns.
  • When copying a UDAP, enter a unique reference code. Comments aren't copied, and the copied name includes (Copy).
  • Exporting selected records exports only those records. Without a selection, the export includes all records that match the applied filters.

Access requirements

Access to UDAPs is controlled through Stakeholders. Users can view only UDAPs for which they have explicit authorization. When the All Employees participant group is assigned, users can view the UDAPs in the list. Additional actions, including edit and copy, depend on the user’s authorization and applicable privileges.
