Reference Data management
Use the Reference Data tab in the Reference Data and Settings module to manage reference-data attributes used by internal controls and other Risk Management capabilities. Attributes define the values available for use in Risk Management. For example, you can manage processes and fiscal periods.
Most attributes include Oracle-managed content. You can add organization-specific values to every attribute. Use an attribute’s visibility flag to make individual values available or hidden wherever that attribute is used across Risk Management modules.
Business benefit
Oracle-managed content can accelerate reference-data setup. Extensible attributes support organization-specific requirements, and visibility settings help maintain consistent available values across Risk Management modules.
Steps to enable and configure
The reference data attribute Fiscal Period is required for Access Certification campaigns and Internal Control Certification campaigns. Prior to creating a new campaign, ensure values have been created for Fiscal Period.
- From the Fusion Applications Newsfeed home page, open Risk Management.
- In the Reference Data and Settings module, select Reference Data in the in-app navigation.
- Before creating a new campaign, ensure that Fiscal Period has defined values because it's a required field in the campaign form.
- To navigate from the Fusion Applications Newsfeed home page, open Reference Data and Settings.
- Search for and select Fiscal Period.
- If no values exist, click Add.
- Define reference code, period name, start date, end date. Repeat these steps as needed.
Tips and considerations
- Start with Oracle-managed content, then add or extend values as needed.
- Use an attribute’s visibility flag to control which values are available across Risk Management modules.
- The Entities and Fiscal Period attributes don’t include Oracle-managed content values; all other attributes do. Consider creating values that meet your specific business needs. As mentioned, Fiscal Period is required when you are creating either an Access Certification campaign management or Internal Control certification campaign.
Access requirements
Reference Data attribute access is controlled through Stakeholders. Users can view only attributes for which they have explicit authorization. When the All Employees participant group is assigned, users can view the Reference Data in the list. Additional actions, including edit depend on the user’s authorization and applicable privileges.
