Associating a Transaction With a Campaign
By default, when you create a sales transaction for a customer, the Lead Source field is blank on the transaction. You can manually change the lead source on a per-transaction basis. You can also set the lead source automatically when you use the Default Lead Source on Sales Transactions preference. Go to Setup > Marketing > Preferences > Marketing Preferences.
Choose one of the following if you want a default lead source to appear on sales transactions:

First Campaign Sent – The lead source for the first campaign event sent to the customer is the default.

Most Recent Campaign Sent – The lead source associated with the most recent campaign event sent to the customer is the default.

First Campaign Responded To – The lead source of the campaign event where the customer first responded is the default.

Most Recent Campaign Responded To – The lead source of the campaign event associated with the most recent customer response is the default.

Based on Lead Source – The lead source selected on the customer's record is the default.
Leave this field blank if you do not want a default lead source on sales transactions.
