Order Management
NetSuite 2026.2 includes the following enhancements to order management features:
-
Start Order Fulfillment Directly from Sales Order Record Lists
-
Use the Payment Token Type Field to Differentiate between Tokens
Automating Payment Adjustments Is Now Available
The Payment Adjustments feature lets you automate postings of fees and other adjustments.
Previously, if the payment amount didn't exactly match the invoice amount because of various reasons, you had to enter the adjusting entries manually.
With NetSuite 2026.2, you can adjust the payment amount with automated adjustments. For example, you can adjust a bank fee, convenience fee, or an underpayment directly from the customer payment or customer deposit transactions.
Externally Rated Usage Billing for SuiteBilling
For usage subscription line service types, you can now select Use Usage Amount Only. With this option, usage records can include externally calculated charge amounts from third-party mediation or rating platforms, instead of relying on NetSuite to calculate usage charges.
This enhancement lets you bring final usage quantities and billable amounts into NetSuite for downstream billing, balance consumption, and contract-driven invoicing. You can use these usage amount records with standard usage billing, Commit Plus Overage, and Prepaid subscription models.
Usage-driven dollar amounts also update Advanced Revenue Management (ARM), helping you keep invoicing, revenue allocation, and revenue recognition aligned for externally rated usage.
Start Order Fulfillment Directly from Sales Order Record Lists
You can now start order fulfillment directly from sales order record lists. When you select the fulfillment action, NetSuite opens the appropriate fulfillment flow for the selected sales order and uses existing sales order information where applicable. This helps users move from reviewing sales orders to fulfilling them with fewer navigation steps, especially when working from filtered or saved sales order lists.
Previously, users could only start fulfillment from the sales order form or bulk fulfillment options. This required users to open individual sales orders or use a separate bulk process, which added extra steps when they were already working from a sales order list.
The fulfillment flow depends on your account setup. For example, if the Advanced Shipping feature is not enabled, fulfilling a sales order can also bill the sales order by opening an invoice or cash sale flow. This change does not impact existing workflows, customizations, or scripts.
To use this enhancement, users need the same permissions required for sales order fulfillment, including the Fulfill Orders permission with Edit access, the Sales Order permission with View access, and the Item Fulfillment permission with Create access. Depending on the fulfillment flow, users may also need Create access for invoices or cash sales.
For more information, see Order Fulfillment Overview and Fulfillment Workflow Charts.
Subscription Metric Enhancements
Subscription Metrics includes the following enhancements:
Support for Additional Source Transactions
Subscription Metrics now supports sales order renewals and memorized transactions as source transactions. These enhancements help you to include a broader set of subscription commitments in your recurring revenue metrics.
-
Memorized Transactions
You can include memorized transactions as source transactions in Subscription Metrics.
To use this enhancement, you must enable and configure SaaS Metric Reporting.
Historical changes made to memorized transaction templates before this feature starts processing the memorized transaction are not tracked. Changes are tracked from the point the feature starts processing the memorized transaction.
-
Sales Order Renewals
You can include sales order renewals created through the Sales Order Renewal SuiteApp as source transactions in Subscription Metrics.
To use this enhancement, you must enable and configure SaaS Metric Reporting. You must also have the Sales Order Renewal SuiteApp installed.
For more information, see Subscription Metrics.
Support for Prepay Subscription Lines
Subscription Metrics now supports prepay subscription lines to create analytical impact records. This enhancement gives you a more accurate recurring revenue view for upfront and prepaid billing models.
To use this enhancement, you must enable and configure SaaS Metric Reporting.
For more information, see Subscription Metrics.
Use the Payment Token Type Field to Differentiate between Tokens
NetSuite 2026.2 adds the Payment Token Type field as a customer-extensible classification for both general token and payment card token. You can now easily differentiate between different payment token types like Google Pay, Apple Pay, and others.
