Intelligent Item Recommendations for Commerce Websites

Note:

Intelligent item recommendations are not compatible with the Personalized Catalog Views feature. If you use both features on the same Commerce website, intelligent item recommendations may display items to your customers that should not be visible to them based on their personalized catalog view settings.

The Intelligent Item Recommendations feature uses artificial intelligence algorithms to calculate and display items that a shopper may be interested in buying. The algorithms use data such as:

What the shopper bought in the past.
What other shoppers with similar transaction histories bought in the past.
What other items were bought by shoppers who bought a specific item.
Items that have similar names, descriptions, and categories.

Intelligent item recommendations are useful for two different groups.

Sales representatives – Intelligent item recommendations can be uses to identify and add relevant items to sales orders, estimates, and opportunity records.
Commerce website shoppers – You can add recommendations to different areas of your website to show shoppers items they may want to buy.

To use intelligent item recommendations on your website, you must:

Have an implementation of SuiteCommerce or SuiteCommerce Advanced 2018.2 or later, and Site Management Tools (SMT) version 3 or later. See Account Requirements for Intelligent Item Recommendations for Websites.
Install and activate the Intelligent Item Recommendations extension. See Install and Activate Intelligent Item Recommendations.
Review the default recommendation scenarios for each context and create new ones if needed. See Recommendation Scenarios and Blocklists.
Configure how intelligent item recommendations look in the Recommended Items SMT content area on your website. See Configure the Intelligent Item Recommendations Extension.
Add one or more Recommended Items content areas to your website. See Add and Remove Intelligent Item Recommendations from your Website.
Periodically review the data gathered by intelligent item recommendations. See Intelligent Item Recommendations Analytics.
