Additional Item Information in the Subscription

• The additional item information you enter in the item fulfillment record for fulfillable items are carried over to the related item receipt, subscription, and invoice only when the following criteria are met:

  • Fulfillable items are linked to the subscription. For more information, see Linking a Fulfillable Item to a Subscription

  • Item field mappings are set correctly. For more information, see Setting Item Field Mappings.

  • Fulfillable items in the item fulfillment record are marked as shipped. For more information, see Entering Additional Item Information in an Item Fulfillment Record.

• Distribution of additional item information from the item fulfillment record into its own line in the subscription record only happens when the Distribute Values to Subscription Lines box is checked for the field mapping in the Item Field Mappings page and the Split Linked Subscription Items Into Multiple Lines box is checked in the sales order. Distribution only happens when there is more than one fulfillable item in the subscription.

  For example, if you have an item information field in the Item Field Mappings page that is labeled as Color then entered blue,red,green as the additional item information in the item fulfillment record, then in the subscription, red, blue, and green will each appear in a single line for each fulfillable item in the subscription.

• When you create an item receipt record for a returned item and enter the required additional item information for it—for example, its serial number—the subscription is updated and the item is removed from the subscription. The fulfillable item is identified through the additional item information, that is a field identifier, entered in the item receipt record.
