Required Import and Export Settings

Before you report your import and export transactions in the Spain Localization SuiteApp, perform the following steps:

Creating a Vendor Record to Report Your DUA Invoices

Completing the procedure below ensures that the relevant tax lines from your transactions are reported correctly in Modelo 303 and Modelo 390 reports.

To create a vendor record:

  1. Go to Lists > Relationships > Vendors > New.

  2. Enter necessary vendor information. For more information, see Creating a Vendor Record.

  3. On the Spain Localization subtab, check the Import Operator box.

  4. Click Save.

Tax lines from vendors with the Import Operator box checked are only included in specific report boxes that are described in this documentation. For more information, see Modelo 303 – What Goes into Each Box and Modelo 390 – What Goes into Each Box.

Inserting a Tax Compliance Text to Your Import and Export Invoices

If you use the Advanced Localization Features SuiteApp, follow the procedure in Tax Compliance Text.

Otherwise, follow the procedure below to insert your tax compliance text in the nexus record.

To insert a tax compliance text:

  1. Go to Setup > Tax > Nexus.

  2. Click Edit next to the Spain nexus record.

  3. On the nexus record, click the Compliance Text subtab.

  4. Click Insert and set language and invoice text in respective columns.

  5. Click OK.

  6. Click Save.

Updating Tax Codes for Import and Export Tax Transaction Types

To update tax codes for tax transaction types:

  1. Go to Setup > Tax > Nexus.

  2. Click Edit next to the Spain nexus record.

  3. On the nexus record, click the Default Tax Codes/Groups subtab.

  4. In the Import and Export rows, update the tax code values for goods and services to the following values:

    For Import:

    • Goods: ES_NL

    • Services: ES_SR_RC

    For Export:

    • Goods: ES_ZR

    • Services: ES_NL

  5. Click Save.

Note:

Based on your business needs, the tax code requirements for your goods and services might change. In this case, you can also manually update them in individual transaction records.
