Managing U.S. and Canada (MX) Financial Institution Connections

On the U.S. and Canada Accounts (MX) format profile page, you can do any of the following:

To manage your financial institution connections under MX:

  1. Go to Setup > Accounting > Financial Statements > Financial Institution > List.

  2. On the Financial Institution page, click View next to the Bank Feeds financial institution record.

  3. On the Format Profile: Configuration subtab, click Edit next to U.S. and Canada Accounts (MX).

  4. On the U.S. and Canada Accounts (MX) format profile page, click the Connectivity Configuration subtab.

The following table shows the columns you'll find under the Connections subtab.

Column Name

Icon

Description

Financial Institution

Shows a list of active financial institutions connected to your NetSuite account.

Connection ID

Shows the unique ID for each financial institution connection.

If you have multiple connections to the same financial institution with different login credentials, each connection gets its own unique ID.

Accounts

Shows the number of connected bank and payment accounts associated with your financial institution account.

Note:

If the Accounts column shows zero (0) for a connection, this means the setup wasn't successful. You can rebuild or delete the connection and try again.

Update MFA

Refresh

Shows a Refresh icon for each financial institution that requires MFA token update. For more information about how MFA accounts are handled by the SuiteApp, see Multifactor Authentication in Bank Feeds.

Tip:

To display the configuration window, make sure popups are enabled in your browser.

To update a connection’s MFA token:

  1. On the Connections subtab, click the Refresh icon in the Update MFA column.

  2. The configuration popup window appears. Enter a valid MFA token.

  3. Click Continue.

The system retrieves all connected accounts associated with your financial institution and automatically connects them to your NetSuite account.

  4. On the configuration setup window, click Done.

On the Connectivity Configuration subtab, a Check icon replaces the Refresh icon to show that the MFA token for the connection is updated. When the page is refreshed, the Check icon disappears.

Rebuild Connection

Rebuild Connection

Shows a Rebuild icon for each financial institution connection. Click the icon to reconfigure your financial institution connection to NetSuite.

When you rebuild a connection, the system imports bank data starting from the last successful import. If you rebuild a connection with zero accounts connected, the system imports the last 60 calendar days of bank data. The import starts after you click Save on the format profile.

An Error icon will appear beside the Rebuild icon if there's a problem with the connection. Connection errors can happen for any of the following reasons:

  • You recently updated your login credentials on the bank’s website

  • The last MFA token update wasn't successful

  • Your consent has expired

  • The connection configuration is incorrect

For example, closing the configuration window before you finish the configuration process, or entering incorrect login credentials.

Click the Rebuild icon to fix the connection errors.

Tip:

To display the configuration window, make sure popups are enabled in your browser.

To rebuild a connection:

  1. On the Connections subtab, click the Rebuild icon in the Rebuild Connection column.

  2. In the configuration popup window, enter your login password.

In some instances, the page shows a list of associated accounts connected to NetSuite instead.

  3. Click Continue.

  4. Some connections may require you to renew your account information consent to rebuild your connection. If that happens, do the following actions:

    1. Read the data sharing notice and click Continue to acknowledge it.

    2. Enter your login credentials on the financial institution's website.

    3. On your financial institution's authorization page, review the accounts associated with your financial institution connection. Add or remove accounts as needed.

    4. On the same page, grant NetSuite access to your account. You'll need to do this before the system can start establishing a secure connection.

    5. Click Done.

  5. The system retrieves all accounts from your financial institution and automatically connects them to your NetSuite account.

    Note:

You can still exclude an account from your financial institution connection after completing the rebuild. See Managing U.S. and Canada (MX) Connected Accounts for Bank Feeds to know how to exclude an account from the Connectivity Configuration subtab.

  6. Click Done.

Delete Connection

Delete

Shows a Trash icon for each financial institution connection. Click the icon to delete a financial institution connection in NetSuite.

To delete a connection:

  1. On the Connections subtab, click the Trash icon in the Delete Connections column for the financial institution you want to remove from bank feeds.

Deleting a financial institution connection disconnects all its accounts, and you will no longer receive daily updates.

  2. When the confirmation message appears, click Delete to confirm your action.
