Vendor Metadata
Customers in NetSuite can use Vendor Planning Category values to group vendors into different categories and create their own custom hierarchy. When you import Vendor metadata to your Planning and Budgeting, the Vendor Planning Category values are used to build the Vendor metadata hierarchy.
You can define the Vendor Planning Category on a vendor record under the Custom subtab.
The Vendor metadata hierarchy is built with the following logic:
-
If a vendor from NetSuite has a Vendor Planning Category, the Vendor Planning Category is used in your Planning and Budgeting as the parent.
-
If a vendor from NetSuite does not have a Vendor Planning Category, the top-level vendor is used in your Planning and Budgeting as the parent.
