Available To Build Glossary

A

All Levels

The All levels approach considers the entire BOM hierarchy including sub-assemblies and their respective components. The ATB value is calculated at all levels by considering both immediate components and multilevel components, including sub-assemblies and sub-kit items.

Assembly Item

An assembly item is an inventory item made of several components (defined by a Bill of Materials) but is identified as a single item. The available to build is calculated for assembly items.

Available

This term represents the available quantity in the inventory search after the commitment of stock in the units of measure (UOM).

Available to Build

The ATB value is a metric derived from the Available to Build SuiteApp. The resulted value is a comprehensive calculation of either assembly items or kit item types at top level or all levels.

K

Kit Item

A kit item consists of a group of components, parts, or sub-assemblies. These items are grouped together based on a predefined configuration to form a complete unit.

O

On-hand

This term represents the available quantity of an item as base multiple units of measure (UOM) in the inventory for a selected location.

T

Top Level

The top level refers to the highest level in a BOM hierarchy. It represents the end product that is assembled from various components and sub-assemblies. The ATB value is calculated at the top level based on the on-hand quantity of immediate components.

U

Units

The resulted ATB value is in the format of base unit of an item record.

W

Work Order Quantity

In a work order transaction, the sum of outstanding work order quantities of work orders with the statuses Released or In Progress.
