Best Practices of Using the Subscription Metrics SuiteApp
To ensure optimal performance and accuracy when using the Subscription Metrics SuiteApp, follow these best practices.
-
Ensure that your NetSuite edition, features (SaaS Metrics, Advanced Billing), and account (OneWorld) meet the SuiteApp requirements before installation.
-
Assign the SaaS Metric permission to roles to enable dashboard access and usage.
-
Enable SaaS Metrics and set correct start and end dates on all applicable item and service item records. If you have a large number of items, enable SaaS Metrics for items in small batches. This will help prevent system performance issues.
-
Set up and maintain accounting periods for all subsidiaries to ensure accurate ARR and MRR reporting.
-
Use dashboard filters (subsidiary, customer, item, and others) to access the data you need.
-
Limit date ranges (maximum 36 months) to avoid timeouts or incomplete reports.
-
Review custom datasets (for CAC, etc.) for accuracy, naming conventions, and required columns, especially after business or system changes.
-
Export and check CSV data for analysis and consistency. To see accurate data in the export, you must have access to all transactions.
-
Keep up with automatic updates.
-
Document and test any custom KPI formula changes.
-
Use filters to manage large data sets and avoid errors.
-
Refer to troubleshooting resources for error messages. If you still have issues, contact your NetSuite account administrator or Customer Support.
