SuiteCommerce CAPTCHA User Experience
After you enable SuiteCommerce CAPTCHA for your Commerce web store, your customers will be prompted to complete a simple challenge when interacting with key forms, such as registration, login, and checkout. This feature protects your store from automated abuse and fraud while maintaining a good user experience for legitimate customers.
SuiteCommerce CAPTCHA Flow
When a customer interacts with a protected form in your web store, here’s what happens:
-
Form Entry: The customer enters their details in a registration, login, or checkout form on your site.
-
CAPTCHA Challenge Appears: Before completing the action, a CAPTCHA challenge appears.
The challenge may appear as a checkbox, image selection, or a short puzzle. This depends on the third-party CAPTCHA service you use.
Sample on-screen CAPTCHA challenges:
-
"I’m not a robot." (checkbox)
-
“Select all images with crosswalks.” (customer selects matching images)
-
-
Customer Completes the Challenge: The customer completes and submits the requested task.
-
Validation and Submission:
-
If the CAPTCHA challenge is completed and successfully verified, the form is submitted and the desired action is processed. For example, the account is created, login is successful, or the order is placed.
-
If the CAPTCHA challenge isn't completed or fails, an error message appears, such as, “Please complete the CAPTCHA to continue.” The customer can try again and the challenge will refresh.
-
-
Successful Completion: After a valid CAPTCHA response, the customer sees a success message for their action. For example, “Welcome to your account!” or “Thank you for your order!”
