Configuring Item Records for Field Service Management
In Field Service Management (FSM), item records represent the parts, labor, charges, and equipment used for field service work. For inventory items, warehouse and van locations determine the available quantity and inventory details.
To make an inventory item available in FSM Mobile, configure the item for the applicable mobile workflow and make sure stock is available at the technician's assigned inventory location.
Field Service Fields on Item Records
On the Field Service subtab of an item record, use the following boxes to control mobile availability and asset creation:
-
Field Service Asset - Check this box when fulfillment must create an FSM asset for the item. To track each unit individually, use a serialized item.
-
Field Service Show on Mobile - Check this box when an item must appear on the FSM Mobile Quote or Order tabs.
Use the following recommendations to decide when to check or clear the Field Service boxes. Confirm each selection against your configured FSM workflow.
