Inventory Level Calculation Process
When eligible item-locations exist, NetSuite opens the Inventory Optimization Event Log. The event log shows the Inventory Optimization Calculate Lead Time and Inventory Optimization Calculation processes.
Open the process results to review processed item-locations and messages.
For successfully processed item-locations, NetSuite updates Purchase Lead Time, Safety Stock Level, Reorder Point, and Preferred Stock Level.
Only one Inventory Optimization calculation can run at a time. NetSuite may block a manual calculation when another run is active, or skip a scheduled calculation.
A missing service level can cause the Inventory Optimization run to fail.
If no eligible Inventory Optimization items exist, NetSuite displays a notice. The standard reorder point calculation still runs for excluded Reorder Point items.
After the process finishes, review the calculated values on the Item Location Configuration records.
