Calendar Customization

Calendars show a schedule overview of bookings, task assignments, time off requests, and work schedule, for the authenticated user and other employees this user has access to.

This topic describes the elements of the calendars that can be configured and controlled by account administrators.

For a general description of the calendars, see Calendars under the User Guide.

Access Control

By default, the type of items a user can see in the calendar depends on which modules this user can access. The All Item Types in Calendar optional feature lets users see their bookings and task assignments even if they do not have access to the Resources and Projects modules.

Configuration Settings

To customize calendars, go to Administration > Global Settings > Display > Interface: Display. The following settings are available:

  • Hide the ‘My Calendar' tab — Check this box to hide My calendar menu option in all modules for all users .

  • Maximum number of rows to display per day in ‘My Calendar' monthly view — Select the number of calendar items that can be shown for each day in the month calendar view. The default (and minimum) is 4 calendar items, and can be increased up to 10. The option to display all rows regardless of number is also available.

  • Show My Calendar tab in all modules — Check this box to show the My Calendar menu option for each application (module). This setting is also available in users' personal settings. When checked, My calendar is the first option in the menu for each application. This setting has no effect if the Hide the ‘My Calendar' tab box is checked.

  • The following settings modify the information shown for each calendar item. The summary information is shown in all three calendar views (month, week and day). The detail information is shown in the day calendar view only.

    • Show booking type for bookings as summary on the calendar

    • Show custom fields for bookings as summary on the calendar

    • Show custom fields for bookings as detail on the calendar

    • Show custom fields for task assignments as summary on the calendar

    • Show custom fields for task assignments as detail on the calendar
