Schedule Alternative Resource More Than Once in Routing Definition
You can schedule alternate resources more than once in a routing operation with the help of different schedule sequence numbers. You can also use the same alternate resource to set up different activities or activities with varying usage rates for the same operation.
Prior to Release 12.2.15, the same alternate resource could be scheduled only once for a given Substitute Group Number, Replacement Group, Basis and Schedule Flag sequence even when the schedule sequence number was different.
This functionality enables you to schedule the same alternate resource multiple times for different activities.
In the following example, TANK is a machine resource and LABOR is a person resource. The TANK is cleaned and later used for mixing activity using the same LABOR resource.
The table shows the alternate resources defined for operation sequence 10.
Resource | Resource Type | Replacement Group | Schedule Sequence | Basis | Substitute Group Number | Schedule | Activity | Description |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
LABOR | Person | 10 | 10 | Lot | 10 | No | Cleaning | Person to clean the tank (Setup activity) |
TANK | Machine | 10 | 20 | Lot | 10 | No | Cleaning | The tank to be cleaned (Setup activity) |
TANK | Machine | 10 | 30 | Lot | 10 | Yes | Mixing | Same tank to be used for mixing (Main activity) |
LABOR | Person | 10 | 40 | Lot | 10 | No | Mixing | Same person to perform mixing activity (Main activity) |
