Create Engineering Change Orders for Items in Inactive or Obsolete Item Status

You can now create engineering change orders (ECOs) for items with Inactive or Obsolete item status that are allowed for use in BOMs. With this feature, you can manage change orders for inactive or obsolete items that require service during their warranty period.

BOM allowed items are those items that have the BOM Allowed attribute set to Yes. This attribute controls whether a BOM can be created for the item or whether the item can be included in a BOM.

Prior to R12.2.15, you could not include BOM allowed items with Inactive or Obsolete item statuses in an engineering change order.

You can create an engineering change order for items in Inactive or Obsolete status if the BOM Allowed attribute is set to Yes.

In the example below, AS10000 item is with Inactive status and AS20000 item is with Obsolete status.
