View cases from the Cases Series page

Note:

Oracle Empirica Signal retrieves the data that appears on the Cases page from the source data. Therefore, it does not include custom terms or values created by data transformation.
  1. In the left navigation pane, hover on the Data Analysis icon (Data Analysis icon), then select Case Series.
  2. Select the case series' Row Action menu (Row Action menu), and then select View Cases.

The Cases page lists the cases in the case series in a table. The variable representing the case ID is the first column of the table. The data configurations associated with the case series determine the additional columns that appear. For example, if the site option All Case Comment/Review/Exclusion is enabled, additional columns indicate whether the case has been reviewed or excluded, and whether comments have been added by a reviewer.

  3. Perform additional actions on cases:
    • To view case details, select the case ID in the first column.
    • To add cases manually, select the Manually Enter IDs link, enter case IDs, separated by lines or commas, in the text box, and then select Append.
    • To see the reports that can be run on the case series, select the Report link.
    • To download case details for all cases in the list to an Excel spreadsheet or a Word Rich Text Format File, select the Download Case Details link. (When viewing a particular case, you can also download case details for that one case.) Oracle Empirica Signal does not include cases that are marked as excluded and that are hidden at the time of the download.
    • To save the list of cases as an attachment to a topic, select theSave to Topic link (available if the Topics feature has been set up). The application does not include cases that are marked as excluded and that are hidden at the time you save the list as an attachment.
    • If any cases have been marked as excluded as part of reviewer input, you can select the Hide Excluded link. Excluded cases are not visible on the Cases page. If you select Show Excluded, such cases are visible.

View cases from the Data Mining Results page

  1. In the left navigation pane, hover on the Data Analysis icon (Data Analysis icon), then click Data Mining Results.
  2. From the Run name drop-down list, select the run you want to view. Your Default Run user preference determines which run is selected by default.
  3. Specify selection criteria, and then click View Results Table.
  4. Click the drug's Row Action menu (Row Action menu icon) and select View Cases.
  5. Click Close or perform any of these additional activities on the cases shown:
    • To see the details of a case, click the Case Number.
    • To create a case series containing the case IDs, click Create Case Series. For timestamped data, the As Of date of the case series is that of the object you were viewing when you drilled down.
    • To transfer the list of cases to an existing case series, click Transfer to Case Series.
    • To download case details for all cases in the list to an Excel spreadsheet or a Word Rich Text Format File, click Download Case Details. You can download case details only if the appropriate site option has been set. (When viewing a particular case, you can also download case details for that one case.)
    • To view a report for the cases, click Reports. Report definitions appear only if they are compatible with the data configuration for the object that you were viewing.
    • To save the list of cases as an attachment to a topic, click the Save to Topic link (available if the Topics feature has been set up).

View cases from the Signal Review page

  1. In the left navigation pane, select Signal Review (Signal Review icon) to display the Products page.
  2. From the drop-down to the right of the Signal Review page title, select the signal configuration associated with the versioned case series.
  3. Select the product's Row Action menu (Row Action menu), and then select View Product-Event Combinations, or select the product name or total count.
  4. Drill down to the actual cases by selecting the case count displayed in one of the associated columns and selecting View Cases from the drop-down. For signal management configurations configured to use versioned case series, the cases page contains three annotation-related columns:
    • Current Version Annotated: The most recent date that an annotation was added to the current version of the case.
    • Prior Version Annotated: The most recent date that an annotation was added to the most recent previous version of the case.
    • Annotation: The Annotation text from either the current annotation, if any, or the most recent annotation on a prior case version, if any.

When case data is updated, Oracle Empirica Signal considers it a new version of the case with the corresponding case version date.

  5. From the Cases page, you can view case details and add annotations to a case.
