Combine case series

If you have the Create Queries/Case Series permission, you can combine two or more case series in the same configuration.

Oracle Empirica Signal copies all cases in the selected case series into a new case series, but retains the original case series selected. Oracle Empirica Signal sets the Reviewed and Excluded statuses for all cases to null in the new case series.

Note:

To combine case series, the status of the case series that you select must be Completed, and the cases must have the same data configuration. For timestamped data, the application prompts you to select an As Of date.
  1. In the left navigation pane, hover on Data Analysis (Data Analysis icon), then select Case Series.
  2. Select the Select Rows to enter row selection mode.
  3. Select the check boxes next to the case series that you want to combine. You must select at least two case series.
    • You must select at least two case series.
    • The selected case series must be in the same configuration.
    • You cannot include versioned case series.
  4. Select the Combine Case Series link.
  5. If the case series contains timestamped data, specify an As Of date.
  6. On the Combine Case Series page, in the Name field, enter a name for the combined case series. The name does not need to be unique, although Oracle recommends that you use a unique name.
  7. In the Description field, enter an informative description of the combined case series.
  8. Select one of the following:
    • To assign the combined case series to an existing project, select Add to existing project and then select the project from the drop-down list. Only projects associated with objects that you created or that are published to you appear in the list.
    • To create a new project and assign the case series to it, select Add to a new project named and enter a project name.
  9. Select Create.
You can work with the combined case series as you would with any other case series.
