Add or edit an annotation type

Annotation types are predefined comments that you can apply to cases in a versioned case series; for example, Suspected duplicate.

A default set of annotation types is installed with Oracle Empirica. You can also create distinctive annotation types for each versioned case series.

Note:

To add or delete an annotation type, you must be a superuser or the owner of the case series.
  1. In the left navigation pane, hover on the Data Analysis icon (Data Analysis icon), then select Case Series.
  2. On the Case Series page, select the versioned case series' Row Action menu (Row Action menu icon) for the data configuration, then select Edit.
  3. On the Edit Versioned Case Series page, select the Edit Table button in the Annotation types field.
  4. Add an annotation type or edit a type shown.
    Add an annotation type
    1. Select the Add Annotation Type link.
    2. On the Add/Edit Annotation Type page, fill in the fields shown:
      • Annotation text: The annotation. When users add an annotation on the Case Details page, this value appears in the Annotation Type drop-down list.
      • Abbreviated annotation text: Shortened version of the annotation text.
      • Requires detailed annotation? If you select Yes, you must enter an additional free-text when adding an annotation in Signal Review.
    3. Select Save.
    Edit an annotation type
    1. From the table of defined annotation types, select the annotation's Edit link.
    2. On the Add/Edit Annotation Type page, edit the fields and then select Save.
