Global membership exchange rates are required for the conversion of revenue from the property currency to the central currency (Central Currency Code OPERA Control), for loyalty program management.

Global postings exchange rates are required for the conversion of revenue from the foreign currency to the central currency (Central Currency Code OPERA Control), for availability on the Reservation Sales Screen.

Adding Global Exchange Rates

1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Financials, select Cashiering, and then select Currency Calculator.

2. Click I Want To . . . and select Manage Global Exchange Rates.

3. Click New and enter the following details:

   1. Exchange Types: Select one or more check boxes indicating the exchange types covered by the new exchange rate.

      1. Membership: Used for member point calculation from the foreign currency to the central currency

      2. Posting: Used for Quote Rates from the foreign currency to the central currency on the reservation sales screen.

   2. Currency: Select the currency from the list. 

   3. Begin Date: Enter or select the start date for the exchange rate.

   4. Begin Time: Enter the start time for the exchange rate.

   5. Buy Rate: Enter either the Buy Rate

   6. Buy Commission: Enter a Forex commission percentage to charge. When buying foreign currency, one unit of the local currency equals this many units of the foreign currency.

   7. Net Buy Rate: View Only. Displays the calculated nett buy rate , including any Buy Commission.

   8. Sell Rate/ From Sell Rate: Enter either the Sell Rate. When selling foreign currency, one unit of the local currency equals this many units of the foreign currency.

   9. Sell Commission: Enter a Forex commission percentage to charge.

   10. Net Sell Rate: View Only. Displays the calculated nett sell rate , including any Sell Commission.

   11. Comments: Enter any comments.

4. Click Save.

Editing Global Exchange Rates

1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Financials, select Cashiering, and then select Currency Calculator.

2. Click I Want To . . . and select Manage Global Exchange Rates.

3. Click Search.

4. Select a currency code in the search result.

5. Expand result to view exchange rate

6. Select an exchange rate, then click Edit.

7. Update details.

8. Click Save.

Deleting Past / Future Exchange Rates

1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Financials, select Cashiering, and then select Currency Calculator.

2. Click I Want To . . . and select Manage Global Exchange Rates.

3. Enter search criteria, then click Search.

4. Select a currency code in the search result.

5. Click the vertical ellipsis Actions menu and select History Future Exchange Rates.

6. Select an exchange rate, then click vertical ellipsis Actions menu and select Delete.

7. Click Delete to confirm.

Viewing All Exchange Rates

1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Financials, select Cashiering, and then select Currency Calculator.

2. Click I Want To . . . and select Manage Global Exchange Rates.

3. Enter search criteria, then click Search.

4. Select a currency code in the search result.

5. Click the vertical ellipsis Actions menu and select History Future Exchange Rates.
