35 Importing and Exporting Data

The Simphony Import/Export Service allows you to:
  • Import and export Simphony application data in a comma-separated values (CSV) format to and from spreadsheet applications.

  • Import configuration data into the Simphony application database for use by external systems, such as web service application programming interfaces (APIs).

  • Export configuration data from Simphony for use by external systems, such as on-premises inventory management applications.

The main benefits of this service include:
  • Bulk configuration management, allowing large volumes of data to be loaded at once. For example, you can update menu item prices in bulk, significantly reducing the time required to configure systems.

  • Secure third-party integration with customer databases, whether self-hosted or hosted in an Oracle facility, without granting direct access to the application database or file server.

  • Support for custom integrations, enabling third parties to develop and deploy custom interfaces that interact with Simphony data.

See the Oracle Simphony Manager User Guide for more information about importing and exporting data.
