Using the Barcode Scanner

The barcode scanner has a viewfinder that projects a bright red aiming beam corresponding to the scanner’s field of view. It can read both 1D linear barcodes and 2D matrix symbols.

To scan single or multiple barcodes/symbols:

  1. Hold the barcode scanner at an appropriate distance from the barcode/symbol.
  2. Press the scanner trigger, and then center the aiming beam on the barcode/symbol.
Tips for using the barcode scanner:
    • For the best read, center the aiming beam over the barcode/symbol.

    • For a good read, position the beam in any direction, such as horizontal, vertical, or diagonal.

    • The aiming beam is smaller when the scanner is closer to the barcode/symbol and larger when it is farther from the barcode/scanner.

    • If the barcode/symbol is laminated or highly reflective, it may be necessary to tilt the barcode/symbol to prevent unwanted reflection.
