This topic provides the systematic instruction to maintain SWIFT characters.

1. On Homepage, type MSDTFSWC in the text box, and click next arrow.
   The Trade Finance SWIFT Character Maintenance screen is displayed:

2. On Trade Finance SWIFT Character Maintenance screen, specify the fields.
   For more information on fields, refer to Table 4-1:

   Table 4-1 Trade Finance SWIFT Character Maintenance - Field Description

   Field	Description
   Main Character	Specify the main character.
   Substitute	Specify the substitute for the main character. After entering the details, click the ‘Save’ button.

   Note:

   Characters which are not supported as per SWIFT standards will be replaced with Substitution characters if maintained in SWIFT Character Maintenance else will be replaced with SPACE. This validation will be done for Tags with X or Z character support. Static data to indicate X or Z character set support released for Trade SWIFT Messages:

   705, 700, 701, 707, 708, 710, 711, 720, 721, 750, 760, 761, 765, 767, 768, 769, 775, 785, 786, 787, 730, 732, 734, 740, 742, 744, 747, 752, 754, 756, 759

   Colon ‘:’ cannot be maintained as Main or Substitution character. Restriction introduced for the same.

   Percentage (%) should be maintained only for substitute character.
