Importing the Client Certificate Using the Browser
With two Factor Authentication (2FA), you can authenticate using a client certificate as the first factor authentication and the current login as the second factor authentication.
To import the client certificate using a browser:
- Open the browser supported by Session Delivery Manager. For a list of supported browsers, please see the Oracle Communications Session Delivery Manager Release Notes 9.0.
- Execute the steps below based on your browser:

Browser Operating System Steps Mozilla Firefox: Windows and macOS - 1. Open Firefox and click the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the upper-right corner.
- Select Settings.
- Navigate to Privacy & Security in the left-hand pane.
- Scroll down to the Certificates section, and click View Certificates.
- In the Certificate Manager window, go to the Your Certificates tab, and click Import.
- Locate your client certificate file (.p12 or .pfx file), select it, and click Open.
- Enter the passphrase associated with the certificate when prompted, then clickOK.
- Your certificate should now appear under the Your Certificates tab.
Google Chrome Windows - Open Chrome and click the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner.
- Select “Settings.
- Scroll down and click on “Advanced” to reveal more options.
- Under “Privacy and security, click Manage certificates.
- In the Certificates window, go to the Personal tab and click Import.
- In the Certificate Import Wizard window, click Next.
- Browse to your client certificate file (.p12 or .pfx), select it, and click Open.
- Enter the certificate’s passphrase when prompted, then follow the prompts to complete the import.
Google Chrome macOS - Obtain your client certificate file (.p12 or .pfx) and its password from your system administrator
- Double-click the client certificate file; this opens the Keychain Access application.
- Enter the certificate’s password when prompted and click OK.
- The certificate is added to your keychain
- Open Chrome and access the site requiring the client certificate; Chrome will use the certificates stored in Keychain Access
- To select the correct certificate from the list that the browser displays, you
may need to take screenshots like the one below and store it:
