Activity Log Details Display and Operations

The Activity Log details view includes summary information for the selected user action and a table that lists the devices and edge nodes associated with the action. The details view supports searching and filtering within the job-level table.

Unique Controls and Actions

  • Activity Log Details Page Column Headers—The Activity Log details page displays a table of the devices/edges included in the selected user action. Each row represents a single device/edge job for that user action.

    Note:

In the table, the Name value is a link. Click the name to open the corresponding device or edge overview page (Inventory), where you can view item details.

Table 4-1 Activity Log Details Page Column Headers

    Column Header Description
Name Displays the device or edge node name.
Status Displays the current job status for the device/edge node within the user action (for example, scheduled, in progress, completed, failed).
Details Displays job-specific detail text. For jobs in progress, this field can display the current task. For failed jobs, this field can display the task failure message.
Start Time Displays when processing started for the device/edge node job.
End Time Displays when processing completed for the device/edge node job.
  • Filter Chips—Use search and filter chips to narrow the Devices/Edge nodes displayed in the table. Chips include:
  • Back arrow—Returns to the Activity Log page.
  • Summary information—Matches the selected user action from the Activity Log table.
  • Status badge—Indicates the user action status. If the action is in progress, the header can also indicate progress.
  • Last updated indicator—Shows when the page was last updated (auto-update supported).
  • See details—Opens a drawer with metadata for the selected user action.
  • Download Log—Downloads job-level results for the selected user action based on the applied filters. The downloaded file includes the Devices or Edge Nodes that are part of the user action. Workflow task details are not included in the downloaded file.

Actions on the Activity Log Details Page

The Activity Log details view provides actions for reviewing metadata, examining workflow execution, and exporting results for troubleshooting and record keeping.

View user action metadata (See details button)

Click See details to open a drawer that displays metadata for the selected user action. The metadata displayed depends on the action type and can include the user name, role, device ID or edge serial number, last reported time, and other action-specific fields.

View workflow execution for a device or edge node (View Process button)

Use View Process to review the workflow tasks associated with a single Device or Edge node within the selected user action.

On the Activity Log details page, select a row in the Devices/Edge nodes table and click View Process. A drawer opens and displays workflow information for the selected Device or Edge node. The drawer identifies the Activity Type and the Device/Edge node name, and then lists the tasks performed as part of the user action. Each task entry indicates the current task status (for example, scheduled, in progress, completed/success, or failed) and includes a timestamp (shown as the task end time in the drawer). Tasks that complete successfully are indicated with a green check mark. Tasks in progress are indicated with a Loading progress circle. Tasks that have not started are greyed out. For some tasks, the drawer also displays task-specific metadata (for example, values relevant to the task such as ICCID for SIM-related operations or APN update information). For user actions that include multiple Devices or Edge nodes, the drawer provides navigation controls that allow moving sequentially to the next or previous device or edge node within the same user action.

When a task fails, the task entry is marked with an error indicator and the drawer displays an error banner. The drawer provides the reason for the failure when available. If the failure reason is outside the scope of the current process, a generic message can be displayed. Depending on the failure type, the error banner can also provide navigation to address the issue. For failed tasks, the drawer can also display additional completion information (for example, “completed in”).

Download details results (Download Log button)

Use the Download Log button on the Activity Log details view to export job-level results based on the currently applied filters (or no filters). The export includes the Devices/Edge nodes that are part of the user action and excludes workflow task details.
