Discover Autonomous Databases as Non-host Targets Using the Guided Process
Autonomous Databases are treated as non-host targets in Oracle Enterprise Manager and can be discovered using the guided process.
Using the guided process, you can discover multiple Autonomous
Databases at the same time, use the advanced search functionality to filter and search
for Autonomous Databases, and navigate through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure regions and
compartments in the Oracle Enterprise Manager console.
Before you start the guided process to discover Autonomous Databases,
you must:
- Define a global named credential for your Oracle Cloud
Infrastructure account. On defining the global named credential, it is
recommended that you test if it is successful in establishing a connection with
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. For information, see:
- Define a Global Named Credential in Enterprise Manager for OCI in Oracle Enterprise Manager Administrator's Guide
- Test OCI Credentials in Oracle Enterprise Manager Security Guide
- Ensure that you have the permissions to modify content in
$INSTANCE_HOME/sysman
. As part of the guided process to discover Autonomous Databases, the OCI Client Credential (Wallet).zip
file that contains the credentials to access data in the Autonomous Database is downloaded and saved in$INSTANCE_HOME/sysman/tmp/
.
To discover an Autonomous Database as a non-host target using the guided
process:
After you have discovered the Autonomous Databases in Oracle Enterprise
Manager, you can verify if the discovery was successful by opening the navigation menu
and from the Targets menu selecting the
Databases option. The Autonomous Databases you discovered
should be listed on the Databases page.
